About Me

From following the old map to finding my true way

Why I Do This Work

For nearly two decades, I chased the dream of being a published novelist. I attacked this dream the only way I knew how—with a nearly indefatigable workaholism and perfectionism which did produce but always left me exhausted. When I wasn’t working, I fell into depression.

But it was all good because it was for my dream of creative independence and achievement. And everything was sacrificed for it—time, energy, relationships, and even joy. My world slowly began to silo around me without knowing it.

Then after 15 years, still unpublished and nowhere near where I needed to be to call myself successful, I fell into a dark hole of depression, sadness, grief, and apathy.

And so one day, I quit the thing that once brought me joy. Convinced I was a hopeless failure, without a plan B, without the ability or honesty to ask for help, and without not knowing what to do next, I spiraled into unhealthy habits, distractions, and isolation.

One day during the Covid shutdowns, I broke down on the phone with a friend all the hurt and the sadness that I tried so hard to ignore.

It took hitting bottom to seek help. Therapy, men’s groups, and honest self-reflection gave me the air I needed to breathe again. But honestly, the real breakthrough came when I began to write again, not for publication, but for the joy and curiosity of it.

That’s when I realized that what I needed was a solitude not work or to perfect this expired story line I got in my first half but to listen to what is there of my true voice for my second half. It’s about living authentically.

Today, I’m a certified coach and a published writer—yes a published writer because, wouldn’t you know it, when I let go of what I thought I needed and made room for what needed to be spoken, I created the art but really ultimately the life that was truly my own.

THAT is the point of my work.

My Philosophy

  • I offer presence and connection

You are the one who will engage, face challenges, and rewrite your second half to include things like meaning, creativity, curiosity, connection, and authenticity. I am a guide and a witness to that work.

  • I honor pace

Depth over speed, silence over noise, and becoming over producing—that’s the name of the game.

  • I seek those who seek depth and creativity

Not creativity as a product or even an art form, but what keeps us connected to our own souls and to each other.

  • I believe in work that is human—relational and real

This is a natural transition of change and an invitation to live a more fuller life, not a crisis to push through or ignore anymore.

  • I ask for alliance

My goal is not to own your growth, but guide you toward reclaiming your authorship. The journey ends when you lead yourself. You are not dependent on me.

  • I believe you don’t need to be “fixed”

Because you aren’t broken. You just need to edit your life story to align with your authentic values.
