Frequently Asked Questions
What is coaching?
Coaching is a co-creative relationship where we explore where you are, what’s emerging, and what needs to shift. I bring deep listening, presence, and powerful questions. You bring your experience and intention, and together we support forward movement with awareness and clarity.
Is coaching therapy?
No. Coaching is not therapy. Therapy heals psychological wounds and is deeply clinical. Coaching supports insight, clarity, and momentum in your life from a practical, forward-oriented place.
Is coaching consulting?
No. Although my free content will supply you with methods and tools that have helped me, my coaching is about creating a safe environment for presence, awareness-building, and curiosity where I help you create the life you want.
How do I know if this coaching is right for me?
This work aligns with men who are functioning outwardly but feel stalled inside—ready to explore patterns, gain clarity, and move forward with intention. If you’re thinking deeply about meaning, transition, or creative expression, and want a guided, reflective space, this work may fit you.
Who do you work with?
I primarily work with creative men navigating midlife transitions — writers, artists, musicians, and creators who feel blocked or disconnected from their creative purpose, but I also work with any men who have some mode of creative outlet that they want to reconnect with and explore. Either way, the focus is not on fixing your art, but on helping you rediscover what’s already within you in order for you to flourish.
Do you only work with men?
While my primary focus is on men’s development, I welcome anyone who resonates with the principles of Solitude Work— finding a consistent quiet place for journaling and creative free play for self-reflection, creative renewal, and personal meaning. The deeper goal is human wholeness, not gender exclusivity.
What happens in a typical session?
Each session is a focused conversation exploring where you are, what’s emerging, and what needs to shift. We use reflection, curiosity, and small, meaningful actions to create forward movement. Every session ends with some kind of clarity and a practical step forward.
Is this a men’s rights or anti-women organization?
Not at all. My work focuses on helping men rediscover meaning and creativity — which in turn fosters more authentic, compassionate relationships with everyone in their lives.
What paths of coaching do you offer?
3-, 6-, and 12-month offerings designed to work with men at different phases of their midlife. The 3-month path for showing them what patterns and stories come up that have been limiting them, the 6-month path for understanding and integrating what they’ve learned, and the 12-month for continuing and authoring a strong second half.
What kind of results can I expect?
My coaching is unique from person to person. Coaching is a collaborative process. The work and insights come from your engagement and what you take away depends on your intention and participation.
